BY BOAT
There is a ferry service from Harlingen to Terschelling. It has a sailing time of approximately 120 minutes. You can also use the express service which has a sailing time of approximately 50 minutes. Only the ferry service has the capacity to take cars on board for which you must make reservations in advance. For the timetable, please refer to the website of ferry company Doeksen or call 0900-3635736. We advise you to study the timetable carefully in connection with any changes in departure times.
BY BUS
At the harbour of Terschelling West you find the Arriva bus of Sandton Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee, route 121 for a free transfer to the hotel (on showing your reservation confirmation). From 1 Oktober to 31 March 2011 the Arriva bus of Sandton Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee connects to the arriving boats, with the exception of the last evening boat. You will find information on the departure times of the free return journey to the boat at the hotel reception.
BY CAR
By car you drive from the harbour of Terschelling West in an easterly direction to West aan Zee. Immediately after leaving the village, past Hotel Bornholm, you take the first turning left in the direction of West aan Zee. Once you have arrived in West aan Zee, you again take the first turning left and arrive at Sandton Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee.
BY BIKE
You can hire a bike at the bicycle hire shop Thijs Knop at the harbour and have your luggage transported to Sandton Paal 8 Hotel aan Zee. You can reach the hotel by going along the west side of the island through the dunes or through the woods in the direction of West aan Zee.
