The AAMU for contemporary Aboriginal art is a 10-minute drive from Sandton Malie Hotel. You will be surprised by the impressive art created on the other side of the world. The AAMU is the only museum in Europe that is entirely dedicated to contemporary Aboriginal art from Australia.
Since 2001, the museum has been based right in the heart of Utrecht, close to the Cathedral Tower. It is a unique museum, as there is nowhere else in Europe where you can discover in this way the magnificent works of art of the leading Aboriginal artists. In constantly changing exhibitions, the AAMU offers a surprising insight into various trends, themes and developments in this multi-faceted art, often in combination with other examples of contemporary visual art. The works of art on display range from paintings, sculptures and tree-bark paintings to installations, photography and video.
