Royal Greenhouses of Laeken,
Sandton Hotel Brussels Centre
The Koninklijke Serres (Royal Greenhouses of Laeken) are just a 10-minute drive from Sandton Brussels Centre. The greenhouses were built by Alphonse Balat and commissioned by King Leopold II. In the days of King Leopold II, this greenhouse complex was part of the Royal Benefaction. The Royal Greenhouses house a plant collection that was planted back in the days of King Leopold II. There are many different species of plants on display, including azaleas, banana, bamboo, brugmansia, fuchsias and many more besides. All the plants are housed in a light-filled environment of glass and steel.
