The Brussels Law Courts,
Sandton Hotel Brussels Centre
Within walking distance of Sandton Brussels Centre is the Justitiepaleis (the Brussels Law Courts), Belgium’s most important courthouse. The building was erected at the behest of King Leopold II, and stands on the site of the city‘s old gallows, the Galgenberg hill. The Law Courts are regarded as one of the biggest 19th century constructions in Europe. The building has 8 courtyards, 27 large court rooms and 245 smaller court rooms and other rooms. The Law Courts acquired listed status on 3 May 2001.
