The European Parliament is a short drive from Sandton Brussels Centre. The European Parliament is the only institute that is elected directly by the citizens of the EU. The Parliament meets once a month, in Strasbourg, with a number of additional plenary sessions in Brussels. These take place in the buildings on the Espace Léopold. The building is open to the public from Monday to Friday, so that visitors can see the seat of government of the European community.
