Sandton Hotel De Filosoof offers 38 very special rooms. All these rooms are very quiet and peaceful. The rooms either look out on the Anna van den Vondelstraat or the garden of Sandton Hotel De Filosoof.
COSY ROOMS
Sandton Hotel De Filosoof has 23 Cosy rooms, which all have a TV, desk, safe, radio, shower and/or bath. In addition to the various facilities, these rooms also benefit from free internet.
DELUXE ROOMS
The Deluxe rooms all have the same facilities as the Cosy rooms but are more spacious. Sandton Hotel De Filosoof offers 10 Deluxe rooms.
SUITES
Sandton Hotel De Filosoof also offers Suites. These Suites are all uniquely designed and have the same facilities as the Deluxe rooms. A large number of these Suites are divided into a separate bedroom and sitting-room.
What is unique about Hotel De Filosoof is that all rooms are designed on the basis of different philosophical and cultural themes.

THE PASSION ROOM
This room is dedicated to the French philosopher “Georges Bataille”. The title of his book “The tears of Eros” formed the inspiration for this room. The basic premise of the Passion Room is "Platonic Love". In addition to the theme of passion, this room also links in with the teachings of the four elements: earth, air, water and fire.
Colour use: Red and Gold are the dominant colours of this room
THE CLOUDS ROOM
This room is dedicated to air. The room is based on the philosophies of Socrates and Aristophanes. In his comedy “Clouds”, Aristophanes portrays Socrates as a hawker of rhetoric. They are a renowned duo from Greek history. In addition to these philosophers, the room is also inspired by surrealist painter Magritte. Magritte often used clouds in his work.
Colour use: Many different shades of blue are used in this room.
THE WITTGENSTEIN ROOM
This room is inspired by the physiological thinking of Ludwig Wittgenstein. Born to a rich family but convinced of the fact that money is evil, he gave his inheritance to the rich so that the innocent poor would not be corrupted. The room is based on his philosophy; The Ladder of Understanding.
Colour use: This room is predominantly decorated in the colours Orange, Grey and Black.
